Chance the Rapper Is Bringing the Coloring Book to del Lago — and It’s Going to Be a Church Service
Ten years. That’s how long it’s been since Chancelor Bennett walked into music history without a label, without a price tag, and without asking permission. Now he’s coming to Waterloo, NY to remind us all exactly what that moment felt like.
Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book 10 Year Anniversary Tour rolls into The Vine Showroom at del Lago Resort & Casino on August 14 , and if you’ve been sleeping on this one, it’s time to wake up.
Coloring Book became the first streaming-only project to hit the Billboard 200 and to win a Grammy — taking home Best Rap Album the same year Chance was named Best New Artist. That kind of lightning-in-a-bottle moment doesn’t come around often, and getting to hear it performed live, in full, is something else entirely.
The mixtape blended gospel, soul, hip-hop and more, featuring an expansive roster of collaborators — from Kanye West and Justin Bieber to Lil Wayne, Anderson .Paak, Kirk Franklin, and the Chicago Children’s Choir — and every one of those layers translates into pure energy on stage.
The del Lago stop is one of the early dates on a massive run — the 37-date tour kicks off August 11 in Cleveland and runs through October 11 in Pittsburgh — making it one of your first chances to catch this show before word of mouth takes over.
Tickets: An artist presale begins May 19 at 10 a.m. local time. General ticket sales go live May 21 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
