Grammy Award-winning recording artists Ne-Yo and Akon are scheduled to perform at the Darien Lake Amphitheater in Darien Center, N.Y., on Friday, July 24, as part of their co-headlining “Nights Like This Tour 2026.” Showtime is set for 8 p.m.
The pairing of the two artists is a natural one. Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Chimere Smith, earned widespread recognition throughout the mid-2000s with a catalog of polished R&B recordings including “So Sick,” “Miss Independent,” and “Sexy Love.” Akon, born Aliaune Thiam, built a parallel career with mainstream pop and R&B, producing hits such as “Lonely,” “Smack That,” and “Beautiful.” Both artists have also served as featured performers and collaborators on chart-topping tracks across multiple genres, lending their combined catalog a broad cross-generational appeal.
